On Tuesday, May 26, 2009, “Digital Television Seminar – Introduction of ISDB-T and its features –” was held in Asuncion, Paraguay in order to promote the technology of ISDB-T through the understanding of its advantage in comparison with other technology.

This seminar was;: – hosted by Secretaría de Información y Comunicación para el Desarrollo (SICOM), Paraguay,; – cooperated by the Embassy of Brazil and Japan, and; – sponsored by Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB).

This is the first opportunity where people in Paraguay recognized and understood the advanced technology of the ISDB-T. Although it was a rainy day, over 120 audiences participated in this seminar. The audiences also experienced wonderful “ISDB-T World”, such as HDTV and One-Seg.
Because it is only one month since Peru has decided ISDB-T as the standard of the terrestrial broadcasting, many people are interested in this event.

DiBEG believes that this seminar was useful for the understanding of digital TV to Paraguayan people. During the meeting after the seminar, the opinions that actions, which accelerate the government to decide the standard for the terrestrial, should be taken were expressed among the engineers of the broadcasting companies. The necessity for the test broadcasting in the field was also pointed out.
