The 57th Inter BEE 2021 was held from November 17 through 19, 2021 at the Makuhari Messe in the suburb of Tokyo. According to the statement of the organizer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the number of exhibitors substantially declined to 495 companies/institutions (including 242 exhibitors from 34 countries/areas), 749 booths, and 18,308 visitors (including 131 from foreign countries).
This time, in addition to the real exhibition, there was on-line exhibitions going on through the following month. Besides, SNS such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. was very much utilized for the marketing and promotional activities during the event, where ARIB/DiBEG made full use of these opportunities for the ISDB-T promotion.
At the ARIB/DiBEG booth, we displayed the latest situation of technical standardization activities in the field of broadcasting, and introduced on-going research and development of the next-generation digital terrestrial TV broadcasting technologies, as well as international promotional activities on ISDB-T with exhibition displays and pamphlets.
Among those visitors to our booth, some people commented that the number of exhibitors and the contents of the displays have miserably reduced this time; inquired why there are more ISDB-T adopting countries in Latin America than in South-east Asia; or inquired about the latest status in the development of the next-generation TV technologies.
